Thailand ranks as the world’s 51st largest country, the majestic Kingdom of Thailand is a place that you should keep within the list of top 10 places to see around the ecosphere!

The country still has the veins of its historical glory alive and speaks volumes about the Indian ancient cultural influences along with holding the pulse of Buddhism in its heart.

Thailand is a land of classical beauty coupled with the epidemic of modernism. You should feel it first hand to experience the striking balance.

Where to begin

The crème de la crème of all places to visit in Thailand come to about ten to fifteen prime destinations and the City of Angels is the first—Bangkok.

Krung Thep, as this city is known locally, mesmerises its visitor’s right at the first sight with its magnanimity, economic and architectural advancements and well preserved sentient relics of a predominant past.

A tuktuk ride to Ayutthaya and Siam Ocean World and then buy your souvenirs at the DamnoenSuduak Floating Market can prove more thrilling than you may hope for.

The Siam Ocean World showcases over 30,000 different species of life under the sea. WatPhraKaew or the Temple of The Emerald Buddha which also holds the Grand Palace, the residence of the erstwhile Thai monarch, within its boundaries, is a major attraction.

Dedicated Buddhist pilgrims frequent this temple in reverence but the tourists are dumbstruck by its magnificence.

This temple is a unique example of the influx of religions since along with the Buddhist murals, there is a statue of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy (KuanIm) and Ramakian elements (the Thai version of the Indian epic, Ramayana).

The central segment houses the Emerald Buddha that is only 66cm tall but sits on the highest pedestal, believed to belong the time between 13th to 14th centuries.

By the Sea

Escaping to the sunny beaches, Ko Lipe, a little island amidst the flourishing coral reefs, is a rather Newfoundland among the Thai islands.

Pattaya is for the hip and happening with its rich array of bars, party boosters and seafood and the Sunrise Beach is the lovely escape for romance.

But Ko Lipe has a story to tell of its own, with the sublimating crescents of silver, shimmering sand, crystal water around and lush greenery to break the monotony of the blue in the sea and the sky.

The enthralling trip from Pattaya to Chonburi (deep into the jungle) will be a treasure-trove because Chonburi offers the Flight of the Gibbon that lets you fly through the tropical canopies and the chiaroscuro of light and shadow!

Into the Variety

Patara Elephant Farm gives you the pleasure of bathing elephants, riding them and learning about these gentle giants.

Chang Mai offers you the enthusiasm of climbing 300 stairs to the fantastic Buddhist Temple of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep and also the awesome Night Market to pick up things of your fancy.

The Liquid Adventure at Khao Lak brings you rather up, close and personal with manta rays, whale sharks, leopard sharks and life in the reefs because you get to go scuba diving!

Lastly, Krabi Town welcomes you to the natural scenic wonders of Phra Nang beach that has stunning natural rocks scattered all around, Tiger Cave Temple and a sunset at Tup Island.

Complete with all kinds of wonders, from beaches to high, steep hills, from beautiful gardens to waterfalls, from buzzing city life to the serene sea world, Thailand is the place for a memorable retreat.
